I am a student of my body.
I listen, I feel, I shift,
I wait, I explore, I question.
Since I am yet a student of my body,
I shall not presume to know yours.
All of you is welcome here.

My name is Megan Durham, and my pronouns are she/her. I live and work in Louisville, Kentucky.

I serve on the voice faculty at the University of Louisville, and work as singing voice specialist/vocologist, which means that I collaborate with medical professionals to habilitate singers who have experienced vocal injury.  Incorporating a trauma-informed approach to voice care, I am a facilitator of Movement for Trauma, YogaVoice®, LifeForce Yoga®, and Transcending Sexual Trauma Through Yoga. It is my intention to be a good steward and student of these practices.

I am a member of the Voice and Trauma Research and Connection Group, and am a frequent clinician for choral and vocal groups throughout the country, including the National Association of Teachers of Singing, VATSA, Pan-American Vocology Association, The Voice Foundation, and the American Choral Directors Association.

I am grateful for the privilege of education, and especially for the places and teachers who have shared their knowledge with me:

Registered Vocologist (Pan-American Vocology Association)
Movement for Trauma I & II (Jane Clapp)
Reclaiming Pleasure: Embodied Joy in Trauma Recovery and Social Change (Kai Cheng Thom)
Creative Body Practitioner (Jungian Somatics with Jane Clapp)
Archetypal Somatics (Jungian Somatics with Jane Clapp)
Transcending Sexual Trauma Through Yoga (Zabie Yamasaki)
LifeForce Yoga (Rose Kress & Amy Weintraub)
YogaVoice (Mark Moliterno)
S.V.S. Certification (Dr. Karen Wicklund)
M.M., Westminster Choir College (Marvin Keenze & Dr. Scott McCoy)
B.A., University of Richmond (Dr. Jennifer Cable)

I am committed to the long work of learning, decolonizing, and community building. I seek to recognize my own privileges, unlearn prejudices, and stand firmly in support of Black, Latin, Asian, Indigenous, and LGBTQIA+ lives. I am learning how I can better support Neuro-Divergent minds, and bodies with Disabilities. Acknowledging my imperfection in these endeavors, I seek to repair connections when they are broken, and am accountable for my actions. I am dedicated to affirming the dignity, vitality, and innate creativity of all singing bodies.

Learn about yourself.
Learn about the land you walk on.
Learn about the people that walk with you.
Learn about your voice.
Learn about the land you sing on.
Learn about the people that sing with you.
